I think I know the guy in the second last pic.,.. wasn’t he in one of the Die Hard movies or was it… Rush Hour???

What tribe was doing those carvings Bob? I looks to me that the carved masks are somewhat reminiscent of Japanese carved masks I’ve seen. Do you think there is some connection between that tribe and the Japanese way back in time?

Stefang, the potential genetic connection is SO far back (well before the bering land straight migrations before the last North American ice age) that any resemblances are considered coincidental.

Gotta Love that D40 Nikon :-)) I’m not sure what tribes did the carvings. In my eye, most of the contemporary NW Indian artists have drifted quite a bit away from the original form.
