I read Paul`s review about SteelCity 35990G . http://lumberjocks.com/reviews/4086
The review show us how to improve the dust collecting. I try to do it , and improving the noise at the same time.

(1) Spraying the “3M Under costing Black #1901” on the bottom of desktop (the part in the cabinets).

(2) Remove the original base, use the DIY base with 4 ” dust port.

(3) Add wood on the sheetmetal.

(4) The materials: 3M heavy tape & MBR & Shock Absorber Damping Plate (buy them @ automotive store)

(5) Seal the gap in the cabinets.

(6) Paste MBR on the cabinets(inside & upper)

(7) Paste “Shock Absorber Damping Plate” on the part, that beside the motor.

Results: Dust been improvement, but no data to be compared. Noise: 95—> 81 (iphone APP, non-absolute)

Wow, 95 dB is much louder than I would have thought.
Is this typical for this machine?
Are you sure the bearings are OK?

Hi Crank , I test the noise with iPhone , it is not absolute . Maybe I should say the noise is 85% .
I had Bosch 1031 before , and the TS is much better than it ,about the noise . Thanks for
your notice.

Have your say...
