I use Window’s Vista an an operating system on my home computer. Quite by accident I managed to get Lumberjocks to show up as a button on my task bar so that to navigate to this site I just click the button and here I am! Now that happened completely unassisted by myself – honestly I have no idea how I managed it. Almost like magic. :-)

Can someone guide me on how to make my other favorite links into task buttons? I’m at work now so I probably won’t get back to this till tonight. But if someone can give me a little help I’d appreciate it. I have all my sites “bookmarked” but I very much like the task button and would like my top three or four sites to have the same feature.

Thanks in advance.

Betsy,

I assume you are using Internet Explorer? From any web page, you can put a shortcut to that page in your quick launch bar (which I believe is what you are calling the task bar) by clicking your mouse on the internet explorer icon at the very top left of the page, and dragging it down to that area. You can also make a shortcut on your desktop the same way.

(This applies to XP, but I think Vista is the same way.)

1) Open the LJ site (or any other page) in internet explorer. At the very top left corner of the window is the little Internet Explorer Icon that looks like a sheet of paper with the little e on it.

2) Click on that icon with your left mouse button, then drag and drop it either onto your desktop, or onto your quick launch bar at the bottom of the screen. Now that internet explorer icon will remain where you dropped it, but if you hover your pointer over it, you will see that it is a shortcut to the page you were viewing.

I use internet explorer too. Click favorites, on the right side is a drop down menu arrow, click it, then click add to tabs to favorites.

My Apple Mac allows me to drag the address to the task bar at the top of the screen and then asks me for a name ..I think that Vista and the new 7 are also capable of doing similar
Hope this helps.

I quoted the wrong line, it is Add to Favorites Bar you need to click on not the tabs thing, sorry, that’s all folks! ;-))
