I have one and it is a verry good machine and an absolute bargain at the price.
The planer is quite heavy and well made. I have put all sorts of lumber through it and it has never “blinked” at any of it and produced a really good surface.
If the material you feed it is not too long you will see no sniping, but for long material you will need (as I did) to make a simple outfeed extention to prevent the possiblity of “exit length/weight” snipe.
If a planer of this capacity fits your requirements, I highly recommend this Grizzly planer, you will not be disappointed.
I would suggest you also purchase a blade honer – costs about $15 and once in a while give the blades a tune up. Another great thing about this planer is that the blades are reversable – giving you 2 sets of blades in 1.
Go for it.
