I’ve got 3 hand crank drills, I guess that’s what they’re called. Would be interested in a hand plane or a nice chisel or two, of course not really sure what they’re worth but they’re just collecting dust so figued Id try to trade them.

Hey Joe, they are called braces and provide a lot of fun when going through hard rock maple with a dull bit.

Right and right:) The first 2 are braces, the last one is an eggbeater. Braces are generally used with auger bits for boring larger holes and eggbeaters are good for small holes. Basically they’re used when you can’t get the work on a drill press and the hole’s either too big or too small to use a hand drill effectively.

I may be interested in a swap. I’ll look in my “waiting to be restored and tuned” box and see what I’ve got I might be willing to part with this evening and reply back.

Sorry, didn’t find anything to trade. If you don’t get any takers here, e-Bay may bring a little bit.

Unless they are special, braces are pretty cheap and common.

You’ll need to post better pictures and your location if you want anyone to trade. Even better if you can identify the manufacturer and model # of each. Braces came in various quality levels from homeowner (cheap) to professional.
