I recently purchased an old Homecraft Shaper. I think I got a good deal for a hundred bucks considering all the shaper cutters that were included. I’m having trouble with the drum swich, the wires are loose and shorting out. Does anybody know how this switch is supposed to be wired, or does anyone else have one of these? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I don’t have one. What is the drum switch for, to reverse it??

Yes, it’s a reversing switch. It rotates, on the inside of the switch cover there is a wiring diagram. The one on mine is unreadable. I was hoping to find someone with one who could give me the information.

Been a long time since I wired one. I googled and found this. It looks about right. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/59/187576722_f686c5884a_o.jpg

www.owwm.com should have a wiring diagram. If not ask one of the guys in the forums.

I would say probably, since L2 is white.

That’s what I thought, the motor that is on this is an upgrade, can be run with either 110 or 220. The plug on the cord is one of those universal ones that can be either 110 or 220, so I’m not sure what it’s wired for. Any tips on how I can tell? Thanks

How big is your motor?

Look in the connection box and see if there is a wiring diagram.

I take the cover off the motor and see if there’s a diagram on the inside tomorrow. I hadn’t thought of that, thanks for the tip.
