OK Lumberjocks…..Fine Woodworking (Winter 2009) has listed the Grizzly GO457 as “The last bandsaw you’ll ever need.” http://www.grizzly.com/products/g0457 Does anyone agree or disagree?

Dunno, but I have the Grizzly G0555X bandsaw (http://www.grizzly.com/products/14-Extreme-Series-Bandsaw/G0555X), and I’ve had nothing but good times with it. Best woodworking machine purchase I’ve made so far!

Don,

Check out the lastest woodmagazine the G0457 is for sale for $795 + free shipping. You wont find it for a better deal than that. The only reason I would think you would need a bigger band saw would be to utilize thicker blades. Most of the carbide resaw blades don’t come in 3/4”. But the 14” will cut curves better with tiny blades than any 17” or larger.

Was about to write a review on this one, I’ve had it about a year with no complaints. Grizzly usually has a summer sale and an Xmas sale. I think I paid about $775 last year, something like that.
