I am in process of building Retracting Mobile base , similar to following design

I design similar base for a 250 lbs. band saw with same open stand. I made changes such as used 1/2 “ steel rod and casters from big box which are rated 100 lbs. each.
I cannot get the transition properly from floor standing position to the casters.
Anyone has experience building similar base?

Doesn’t look very sturdy though :(

I would hope you’re going to use something OTHER THAN those puny plastic casters. I believe someone here built one like this. Search LJs for mobile base … Looks like the trick is to get the right radius on that rounded piece that acts as the fulcrum for the wheels to raise and lower.
