Topic tags/keywords: delta riving knife 36-5000 tablesaw

I finally upgraded my old saw to the new Delta 36-5000. I am trying to make a couple of zero clearance insert plates for it, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to remove the riving knife. Is there anyone out there with this saw that can point me in the right direction?

there is nothing in the manual telling how to do this other than a reference to remove the knife when using dado blades.

Ha ha, finally figured it out. Just keep pulling it up. There was a little rough spot that it seemed to be catching on. Smoothed it out, now slides into place and out very nicely. I finished my first zero clearance insert and it worked great. Looks a bit rough’ but gets the job done.

you are supposed to push it to the right side to get it out completely after you hit the bump….
