In my gut I think the answer is to start over, but the cheapskate side of me is wondering about possible fixes, which brings me to the cumulative knowledge and talent of my fellow LJ’s

Project is a QS cherry entertainment cabinet 60” x 22” x 26” divided into three cabinets with the left and right ones having 19” x 20” insert rail & stile doors with a 17” x 18” panel.

Problem was during the panel prep; while resawing two blanks to book match for each of the panels I did great with the first one and then my brain farted on the second and I didn’t pay attention to the bottom of the cut and I tapered the damned cut. After thicknessing to get even panels I’m left with two pieces of 5/16” stock for my 17” x 18” panels

What is your opinion;
1) 5/16” is fine roll with it
2) suck it up and make new panels
3) A creative method to reinforce the panel attractively
4) call me an idiot in a new fashion using vocabulary I didn’t already use when I screwed up the resaw, ( comment MUST use new & creative vocabulary!)

Many thanks all it’s great to have a resource of talented & respectful folks to brainstorm this sort of stuff with.

Big question is it going to drive you nuts to use them as is?

If so, remake the panels. Use the original panels on another project where they can be cut down for correction..

Thanks everyone,

Yes Paul that’s the tough part thinking about looking at it when I’m staring at my TV. The QS is so pretty though, id hate to not have a use for it. Good news is te kids are motly grown so there is a much lower risk of someone putting thier head through it at least until I start fallin over….

Finishing up the face frame right now moving to doors later, I feel better with the positive votes so far, but Paul , itmay change at the dry fit…

Many thanks yall
