Hi All;

I am going to be replacing the blades on my Ridgid JP06101 Jointer in the next week or so. I looked for a video on how to do it, but I wasn’t able to find anything on the process. Does anyone have a video on how to change them out? I’ve talked to Ridgid’s tech support and they are really good at explaining things, but I am by far a more visual learner. Is there a similar jointer that may have videos that correspond? Also, are there any special tools that will be needed?

Thanks!

Mike

Lookup Marc Spagnuolo and the wood whisperer website https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gO746cuRqV4

His explanations are detailed, and include not only what to do but also why it needs to be done. I have changed jointer knives with a jointer pal, and with a straight stick of lumber. If you really want to get serious, use a dial indicator setup.

A quality 3-4’ straightedge and a set of feeler gauges helps to set the beds coplanar.

I have that jointer, changing the knives is simple. I do not know of a video to show you how but I can add pics to this thread when I get home if that would help.

I eould suggest a dial indicator to set the knives.

Have your say...
