What else is new I guess. Anyway, I started a kitchen job today and, as I went to put a fresh set of Jointer knives, I realized I have 3 sets of well worn and nicked knives. It seems whoever changed the last set (probably me) failed to write it down and the didn’t get sent out. My usual guy has about a 2 week turn around and I need a set yesterday.

Anyone know of a shop within an hour of Kingsport TN (37664) that can do 12 inch jointers? Like I said, I have 2 sets to grind plus a set of planer knives I’ll send to make it worth their time. If they do blades as well, I’ll give them a couple to help fill out my order.

Did you get something figured out? You may want to look into a small surface grinder or some good quality wet stones. If you can learn to sharpen them yourself. It may save you time and money.

Boy, I am sitting on a little used Delta 23-710 that I used to sharpen my planer blades when I owned my old Rigid, (and still my Jet jointer blades). But I am down in Cleveland. Close but no banana.

Buy another set? That might be a lot quicker than waiting for a resharp…
