Topic tags/keywords: outdoor plans

Hey all,

I was hoping someone here might point me in the right direction.

My wife wants some new patio furniture, and I’m looking for a new project, so win win. I’ve built some nice adirondack chairs in the past, but now she’d like me to build a cushioned sofa and chair set, like the stuff you’d see in the frontage catalog.

Example

Typically I like to find plans for a similar piece then put my own spin on the project, but in this case I can’t find plans anywhere for these type of chairs. I feell like I could design some from trial and error with scrap wood if I had to, but I’d much rather find a place to start from.

Has anyone here ever ran across plans for a similar outdoor lounge chair?

Thanks!

I have not looked, but, maybe Google plans for patio deep seating furniture. Whatever you choose make sure they are built to handle standard replacement cushions which are available from most big box stores unless your wife can make them.

Although not exactly the same, I would take a look at “Morris Chair” designs and plans. They could be adapted to at least the chairs, and that ottoman. The nestled table set looks fairly standard. Wont be cheap to build that set…

Well I’ve built a morris chair in the past, the construction of these looks alot different, seeing as the back is adjustable on a morris chair, these looked fixed. I’d like to do the back leg/chair back as all one piece, but I’m unsure of angles and lengths.

True, and I in no way meant it would be exact, just meant that you could adapt some of the joinery and dimensions from a morris chair to this build. If you are looking for full on plans, obviously that isn’t going to work.
