Topic tags/keywords: jointer 6 power matic powermatic old iron planer planner for sale central washington ncw

I bought this jointer with an enclosed base at an auction in Olympia, Wash., for $150.00. It needs:

- 3/4 hp, 3,400 RPM motor
- 3-1/2” pulley
- Belt
- Knives and knife mounting hardware

I was going to install a spiral head and motor, but, after explaining the details, costs and differences between dovetails, parallel beds and that many, eventually, upgrade to an 8”, she suggested I just go for the 8” G0490X jointer (is this woman great, or what?).

Anyway, the P50 is just a redundant effort at holding the shop down. Anyone local interested in it?

I’m open to trades for things like routers, hand planes, collectors, hunting things craigslist won’t let me post, or what have you’s (that I don’t yet know I need).

I’m in Central Washington, Specifically, Desert Aire, Washington. That’s about an hour from Ellensburg, the Tri-Cities, Wenatchee, Yakima, Ephrata, Moses Lake. Heck, I’m at the center of the world.

I’m needing a fence for my Powermatic model 50 jointer . Would you consider selling just fence?

Sorry, no. Then I’d just have a heavy piece of scrap. Thanks for asking though.

I bit the bullet and bought an 8” long bed with a spiral head. As such, this just takes up space, so I’m donating it to a friend, who, after many hours in my shop, has gotten the woodworking bug.

Did you get the 490? I have the Delta DJ-20 version, which is basically the same tool. It is a solid jointer, I think you’ll like it.

I did and I’ve done a lot of figured walnut, mahogany an so on. From that, I’m well pleased with my purchase.

The mobile base is a real plus and the dust collection has been excellent.
