Has anyone out there with a Grizzly G1029Z dust collector installed a Wynn canister filter on it? I think the 35A is the one that will fit but I’m trying to understand how it attaches. From the info on Wynn’s web site, it sounds like you have to put the turnbuckles on the inside and reach up through the conical orifice from the bottom to tighten them? Also, did you use the ETG-55 Edge Gasket they sell?

I have a JDS canister on my G1029. It was a direct fit. Not sure how big the Wynn is, but their folks are generally pretty helpful if you give them a call.

Interesting, the JDS looks exactly like the one Grizzly sells themselves (minus the logo). The Grizzly is a 1 micron filter and the Wynn is a 1/2 micron, which is one of the reasons I was looking at the Wynn, but the Grizzly/JDS units are much easier to put on! Also, the Wynn does not come with the flapper mechanism. What is the particle size rating on the JDS?

I have the Grizz canister on mine (with the flapper). No problems at all after years of use.

IIRC, it’s 1 micron. Once coated with fine silt, the filtration size goes lower. I’m far from an expert, but I wouldn’t sweat the difference between a 0.5 and 1 micron rating.
