I am CONSIDERING starting a woodworking website, not so community focused as LJ, and branching off into different areas. Anyhow, I have come up with some names, and was wondering which one you thought was the “catchiest”?

woodslider.com
woodbuzz.com
woodster.com
woodsmitty.com
woodnicks.com

What are you going to cover that isn’t on LJ?

How about sawmillcreek.com. Oh yeah, that’s already taken. You might want to check them out since they already have quite a diverse selection of topics covered.

Or, WoodNet…also taken and very diverse.

How about wood-n-things?

I never really did nail down a name on this, but that’s ok, it’s what the website is about that matters.

I think I would like to create a more resource-based website, as opposed to community-based, like LJ’s is. That said, a lot of LJ’s forum stuff is a resource. I’m talking about a resource for free plans, paid plans, wood, hardware, videos, and so on.

I would like your thoughts on this…

I’ve found that domain names aren’t all that expensive – why not get ‘em all and do a 301 redirect to the main site. As for making a successful website, Content is king!
