Topic tags/keywords: wood project

I have a table with 29” diameter top and 19” base with a 4×4 post. I wasn’t very happy with how I attached the pieces. Without drilling through the top piece how would you join them?

Probably some wood brackets, fastened to the leg via mortise and tendon, then brackets to the top with screws in elongated holes to allow for wood movement.
