Topic tags/keywords: question

A frend of mine (A master carver) today gave me an IN Lap dust collecter. I have the rockler 650 cfm with 4 inch intake. My question is can this in lap 500 crm with short 6” hose be reduced to 4” and then 2 1/2” for longer runs? This thing is like new and cost $350. I’m not a carver but I should be able to get some use out of this machine. Thanks for you input.

This is the unit.

Should be able too. Nice of your friend to give it to you. Enjoy.

Found out yesterday, don’t do it. The bad is not a small enough micron and mahogany dust goes right through it and it’s not strong enough to pull chips like from a forsner bit. Oh well.
