Topic tags/keywords: 221240 blade insert

I have owned this saw for about 10 years and it has been a good tool. Recently I tried to remove the blade insert and had to pry it out and it cracked in half. Would like to replace it with original style and then in the future make some insert myself. However it appears this is not available any longer. I have heard that a Unisaw insert will fit same as original Craftsman. Can anyone confirm that? If so what are the suggestions for buying one?

It’s true, though I’m not sure that the original has many advantages over a good phenolic ZCI by someone like Leecraft. Be sure to get one for a left tilt saw if you pursue a metal insert.

The left tilt and right tilt Unisaw inserts are different and I can’t remember (my middle name) which one will fit the 22124. Go to leecraftinserts.com and study the sizes.

I’d vote for Leecraft as well. I have two of their ZCIs and they are fabulous.

Hey Bob – The 22104, 22114, and 22124 are all left tilt. The DELTA 36-861 stock insert (~ $40), and Leecraft DL-1U ZCI blank (< $30) should both fit.

Zero clearance insert is what you want.
