I am planning on making my wife a jewelry box for Christmas. I was planning on making a “cabinet like” box that stands with 2 doors that open. I’m thinking of making flat paneled doors and using 1/4” purlple heart for the panels. I haven’t decided what to use for the primary wood because my wife doesn’t like light colored woods(yea she is nuts I know). I have never used PH but I think using a light wood like maple and staining it dark would defeat the purpose cause I would also have to stain the PH. Any suggestions for a contrasting wood(that isn’t light) or should I scrap my idea of using PH all together. |
