I’m looking to upgrade from my Delta benchtop jointer to a longbed stationary one. I really wish the JP0610 was still around at the $350 price point but the cheapest I’ve seen it is $599 on Home Depot’s site. I’d really like to keep my costs around $400 give or take and wondered what was the best bang for my buck these days.

Obviously I’m trolling craigslist endlessly hoping for a lucky hit, but so far not so good.

Thanks

Shane

When my Delta benchtop jointer motor died I bought a 6” Grizzly GO654 and I am happy with it. $450.

Jim, I hadn’t seen that grizzly. That looks like a great deal.

I just found this one on CL. Going to look at it tomorrow. Looks like a 351.227240 in pretty good shape. What do you guys think?

I’m not a fan of sears tools I would hold out for a used Powermatic, jet or a grizzly. I’ve also had luck placing a wanted ad in tools for sale section of Craigslist.

+1 a1Jim

Get a good one. At some point you will start wishing for an 8 inch model…. a better 6” will sell much easier.

Where in Ohio are you? I’m in north central IN and I have a 6” Jet (JJ6CS) that I’ve thought about listing. If you want pictures or specs, shoot me a PM.

I’ve got the Ridgid jointer that you wanted. It’s brand new and I’ve got to sell it off…$375. Problem is I’m about an hour east of Buffalo in Upstate NY.

If you don’t mind old iron, keep your eye out for an old Delta/Rockwell 37-220 6” long bed, I picked one up in Columbus off Craigslist for $175. It only needs a little bit of TLC and it will be a serious user. Works as is but I can’t help myself from tinkering.

Thanks, but I think I have my eye on one of the newer models.
