I am 99% done with my project as a farewell gift to my platoon sergeant. Hopefully the photos will show that the cannon is not secured to the desk plaque.

Does anyone have recommendations as to how to keep it from rolling around (securing it in place) while maintaining a professional look, and being able to remove it so he can fire it.

Jinx, thanks for the input!

I am wanting a little more semi-permanent for of attachment. Ideally I want him to be able to pick it up and move it without it falling off. It moves VERY freely..

A thought just came to me. How about drilling holes to hold 2 vertical dowels that the back legs would sit into?

I’d say, “Don’t bother”. When you hand it to him let him
know that it’s two pieces. Anything else I think detracts from
what you’ve done.

And also let me say that Jaime is one lucky guy to have a
platoon full of soldiers care enough to make and present this
to him.

Hats off to SFC Natividad.
