A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped us find some donation boxes!!! We are truly grateful for all your help! We are now able to collect donations to help pay for our vet bills! You are all heros to our homeless dogs!!

Home FurEver is a 501c3 non-profit, no-kill dog rescue in the Detroit area. We were robbed not too long ago and the criminals smashed our donation boxes and took our money. Is anyone out there interested in making and donating some donation boxes? Nothing fancy is needed, just something that we can put on top of a dog crate during our adoption events. Please let me know if you are interested. Thanks so much! You can check out our website at www.homefurever.com

What do the boxes look like?

They looked like a shoe box standing on its end. They were made of wood 6 inchx6inch square base and about a foot tall with the slot on top. There were trap doors on the bottoms so we could put a lock on, but obviously that didn’t work! :)

sorry for the loss of your donations… it’s hard enough to get people to contribute, but to have it taken is a pity.

Maybe there should be a site called SteelJocks.com as it seems that you probably should have something more robust than wood

How many do you think you need? Perhaps with a little thought you can find a way to temporarily attach it to the dog crate.

I would be happy to put something together for you.
Send me your contact information via e-mail…keith@julyswoodworks.com
I am in Charlotte, which is a little south of Lansing.

You may also want to contact a woodworking club that is closer to you.

http://www.semiww.org/forum/ is in Ann Arbor
http://www.michiganwoodworkersguild.org/ is in Royal Oak
Both of these clubs have members all over the metro Detroit area.
Let me know what works best for you.
