What do the boxes look like?

They looked like a shoe box standing on its end. They were made of wood 6 inchx6inch square base and about a foot tall with the slot on top. There were trap doors on the bottoms so we could put a lock on, but obviously that didn’t work! :)

sorry for the loss of your donations… it’s hard enough to get people to contribute, but to have it taken is a pity.

Maybe there should be a site called SteelJocks.com as it seems that you probably should have something more robust than wood

How many do you think you need? Perhaps with a little thought you can find a way to temporarily attach it to the dog crate.
