Hey everyone! I recently built a folding kitchen helping tower for my little girl. It features the ability to fold and ability to adjust height via a removable platform on solid rungs down the side.

My dilemma: I can’t get the platform to fit into the next set of rungs. I’ve attached pictures showing what it is, and the bottom picture is what’s wrong.

Do any of you have any suggestions or tips/tricks to make this work? I’d like to see if there is anything out there I could do before I start hacking into the platform to make it fit on the lower rungs. Thanks!

Make the whole shelf narrower so it slides in from the end and put some cleats underneath so it stays in place.

Split the platform down the middle so it installs as two pieces
