We are taking an old wooden spool end and making a table. We want to epoxy it because it will be used as an arts and crafts table for our kids/homeschool. What is the best way to go about doing this? We will have to build a frame to put it in when we poor the epoxy. We tried to poor some on a slat and it was absorbed right away. Do we have to seal it or paint it first? We usually take old pallet wood for our projects and use polyurethane. This is the first time trying epoxy. Ideas For framing?

Is this going to sit outdoors? If not, you can cover it with formica for easy cleanup. It is a lot cheaper than all the epoxy you have to use to cover all the pine. How do you plan to cover the gaps between the boards?
