Topic tags/keywords: question Turned my first wine stopper today. Drilled the hole for the mandrel and mounted in the chuck. Now I cannot get the finished stopper off of the mandrel. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

try putting the stopper and mandrel in the freezer. When it gets cold the mandrel should shrink more than the wood and maybe it will release. -- Lew- Time traveler. Purveyor of the Universe's finest custom rolling pins. |

In the future turn the blank onto your chuck and back it off… coat with a little wax and put it back on… it should come off easily after that. -- San Diego, CA |

I tried the the freezer trick. It didn’t work so well. I will try it again later. I will let you know how it works out. I will try the wax suggestion on the next one. |
