How big of duct collector, do i need? I have been makeing quite a mess out of my shop working without a dust collection system of any kind. I have in, mind a dust collector with a 39gal. seperator can in front of it. I have my table saw, lathe, and jointer, for now and am saving my schillings for a planer, Wife has given her blessings for a dust collector, but insist I ask on here what size to get.
I really sounds to me like she just gave me an open check when she said ask around.

I think both Oneida and Grizzly have dust collection on line design programs

Lathes, Jointers, and Planers put out a lot of large chips and dust, I would recommend a 2 hp system.

I agree with papadan. A 2hp system is the way to go.
