This was my granddad’s grinder that I’m restoring at the moment.

Before this gets its own spa day of electrolyte and anodic corrosion, I was wondering whether anyone recognised this brand?

I know Stanley used red shields on their defiance line of tools.

Good memory, but I don’t think it’s quite right, unless Stanley had several shield logos. The ones I have seen were a red shield as you pointed out, with the words “Defiance by Stanley” on it.

I don’t recognize the logo but am a little familiar with vintage crank grinders. Can you post a picture of the whole thing?
