Here is a couple of used bandsaws for sale in my area that I am looking at.

These saws are all $600 and all seem to run good. The 490 general is oldest.

$600 is a bit steep for a bandsaw unless you’re going to be resawing. If you just want it for general work, you should be able to find a good 12-14” saw for under $200. If you’re going to be resawing logs or veneers, then you will likely need to spend that much. I’ll let others weigh in on the specific saws ‘cause I’m not familiar with any of them.

It really depends on what you plan on using it for:
  • general/intricate work = smaller bandsaws are better as they can take narrower blades (tighter curves)
  • resawing = larger bandsaws with larger height capacity.

once you figure out your intended use, it’s easier to find the best price/quality combo for your needs.

New to wood working so all I can tell you is that it needs to be 110 v as I don’t have 220 in the shop.(garage). It also needs to be mobile as I need to be able to move out of the way so car can park inside.

Mainly cutting shapes, intricate work. Wood be nice to be able to re saw once and awhile.
