I googled this routers bushings and didn’t find any specific makita accessory for this model. Can someone tell me what is used for guide bushings, someone who has this machine? I know there are several sets but cannot ascertain whether they will work with my router. Thanks

A little research and I have your answer. You need Makita 321492-3 Template Guide. It is actually an adapter. Once installed you can use the regular Porter Cable guide bushings. I believe the reason they went this route is because you have a big, powerful router that can handle large diameter bits. If the base was sized to take the Porter Cable bushings directly it would limit the size of bits you could use. Others have had to enlarge the hole in their sub base for big bits and get another one to use with guide bushings. I like the adapter idea better. Also when using smaller bits it reduces the size of the hole for more support and less chance of the work piece getting caught. I think they also make oversize bushings that fit directly, from what I could see in the owner’s manual. I’d go with the reducer.

Have your say...
