He’s off the air? I was wondering why they’ve been showing reruns lately and the last season was just him talking about past episodes. |

Should be acknowledged for his public and enthusiastic dedication to the cause. I’m still working on the doors for our new cabinets. -- varmit, Michigan |

why not just post all comments here, and then you can print it off and mail it? I doubt Martin wants to get pulled into all our individual ideas. He pretty much seems to want to keep the site up and running so that we can talk amongst ourselves. That probably the way it should be. |

Fantastic idea. While a good number of his projects are beyond my skill level, and more than a few of his pieces are not even close to my taste, I learned so much, and was kept inspired by Norm for so many years. His influence will be missed. -- Trying to follow the example of the master. |

I wish they would show his recent episodes on Uk tv. We haven’t had Norm for a few years, and then as said already it was all repeats.I have alot of stuff on video that shows how long since we got copies here.LOL a card from us that would be appropriate I think he seemed like a good man.But we could do it without disturbing martin surely.?Alistair -- excuse my typing as I have a form of parkinsons disease |

Good idea, I definitely would like to be part of this. I figured this was going to be the end when they did the 26 rerun shows for the 21st season. I emailed them a month or so ago asking if there was going to be a 22nd season with new not rerun shows. Never heard back. Good thing I’ve got 350 shows saved to never delete across a number of my DVR’s and just recently started ripping them off and rendering them to go on my Media Server so I can watch them anywhere in the house. With 350 shows and they only produced 260 (I’m not counting the 21st season) I know I’m going to have duplicates but I’m hoping I have all of them. -- -Curt, Milwaukee, WI |

Good by Norm, You always made the unachievable seem feasible. You invoked a sense of beauty in the simplest of woodworking tasks. You taught woodworking as both an art form and problem-solving exercise. And you always conjured up a slight feeling of healthy woodshop envy. We’ll miss you. -McLean, VA -- Measure, cut, curse, repeat. |

With Norm off the air, I don’t know how I’ll be able to get new tools. Many a time I’d be watching his show with my wife and he go to his arsenal of tools causing the Mrs. to ask, “Do you have one of those?” And, if I said “no”, it wasn’t long before she suggested that I could probably use one. Thanks to Norm I have a mortiser, drum sander, oscillating sander and a variety of smaller tools. The good times have come to an end. -- When you give someone a chance it may well be their last. |

Perhaps emailing New Yankee Workshop (Norm) including a Link to this thread would be a good way of handling it? That would be the easy way to do it… ... and they DO read their email (at least they used to). IMHO… -- Have Fun! Joe Lyddon - Alta Loma, CA USA - Home: http://www.WoodworkStuff.net ... I like the way Norm would tackle all projects, from shaker to leather lounge chair . He had a way of breaking down the complicated so all understood how to put it together. Many have had a little fun at his expense, but I think there are woodworkers today that started with ole Norm. Sorry to see him go. -- Bill Merritt -Augusta Ga. woodworker |
