Topic tags/keywords: question drill press

Hello all,

As stated in an earlier thread/topic today, I’m a recently new member of Lumber Jocks. As such, I’m still learning the format of the forum. My question:

What is the appropriate forum to post a new topic/post/thread, whatever the correct term is, that shows in detail a shop built accessory. I’ve recently built a woodworker’s Drill Press table for my shop. I’d like to post a detailed description and several photos of my new DP table.

I don’t know which of the following areas to post this:

1. Forums> Woodworking Tools, Hardware and Accessories (This is a woodworking machine accessory)

2. The projects tab at the top of the page (This is a completed project but not a piece of furniture, a box, etc. As mentioned above, it’s a shop built machine accessory)

3. The Blogs tab at the top of the page (If this is the appropriate area, how do I start a new blog? I’m not clear on what a blog is exactly.)

Finally, before clicking on the “Post this topic” button, is there a way to preview the the new post before actually posting it, so that one can see exactly how it will appear once it’s been posted? If so, how does one access and use the preview function?

Thanks for your help and advice. Much appreciated.

Stephen

First off Welcome to LJ’s!

I’d think your project area or blog or the Woodworking Skill Share forum, It probably get more exposure in the Woodworking Skill Share forum so I’d probably put it there and then in your project area or blog maybe.

And there’s a Preview button in the upper right when you’re entering your post.

You can just post it as a new project and type in tool accessory

Welcome and post away. A preview button is just above the box that you type into. You also need to check out how to post pictures.

We have a saying, “No pictures, didn’t happen”

Enjoy yourself.

up at the top of every page ,
on the right ,
it says ’ my lumberjock’s ‘
click on it , and a menu pops down ,
everything you want is there .
go to w.w. skill share and click it .
follow the instructions .
you can write all you want and insert pictures ,
pictures come from a storage ( free ) ,
i use photobucket .
bring in direct linc from there and bracket with ( ! ) exclamation points tight to them ,
and they will appear as pictures .
you have a preview button for seeing what you are doing as you go .
any problems go to garyk blogs and he did a tutorial about picture posting .
i think a blog is just a way of writing stuff , and you can add pics. as well ,
or into any comments you want to add photos to .
i hope this helps .
you will get the hang of it soon , if you play around .
this site is very accessible , if you figure it out .
i don’t know much myself .
so good luck .

Thank you all for your replies! I think I’m getting the hang of it. I just posted a project in the “Projects” area and it seemed to work fine. It isn’t the DP table that I mentioned in my first post in this topic, rather a completed project (3D wall art).

If I’m understanding this correctly, I’ll need to upload the pics of the DP table to my website and then link to them, as instructed, in order to have photos inserted into the body of the post. I’ll try to get that done this evening.

Thanks again for your help. Much obliged!
