I have a massive chunk of Cherry that I’m looking to trade. Its about 15X16X58 inches long (Around 95 Board ft). It does have a decent size check on the end, but its limited to one side. So I would say its closer to a 75 Bft of uninterrupted beautiful figured cherry. It has been in a dry barn since at least 1997 and the person who had it in the barn said it was a old and dry when he bought it, so I really don’t know how old it is. But I do know its GORGEOUS!!!

Anyway, I’m looking for an 8-inch jointer (or larger) in good condition (no 6-inchers). I’d love to trade it straight up for something, but I know the value of 8-inch jointers so I would be willing to throw a little cash on top if its a fair deal.

But the whole reason I’m offering this wood is that I don’t have much cash, so to sweeten the deal if any one is interested, I have a 4HP pool motor and pump. It was used for about 1.5 hours until the contractor realized the architect spec’d it out wrong, so its essentially brand new. (Retails for $885) Also, I have a porter cable deluxe dove tail jig I’d be willing to part with… (retails for about $160 – I think)

I live in Hartford CT and I’m not interested in dealing with shipping this massive chunk that I need a hand truck to move. Anyway, if someone is in the New England area, I’d be happy to drive and meet half way, switch the jointer for the wood, have some lunch at a diner and call it a day.

I really would like to find a fellow lumberjock that would enjoy and respect this wood as much as I do. I really don’t want to deal with Craig’s List. (You get a lot of nut jobs on that site). Parting with this wood is going to be very difficult for me, but I’m very low on cash and I’d really like a decent size jointer. Here are some pics…

I read “15×16…” and I thought that can’t be right until I saw the photos. Holy Cow!

Sure Devolution, it doesn’t appear anyone has a jointer they would like to get rid of. I just sent you a PM.
