I have a request from a friend to make a cross from the branches of an avocado tree that her now deceased father had planted.

Has anybody worked with wood from an Avocado tree or know anything about its properties as project material?

I take it the tree (branch) is coming down anyway or is she taking down the tree he planted in order to make the cross?

The first few google results for “avocado wood” were pretty useful though, especially:

The tree branch was taken some time ago although I’m not sure exactly how long ago, nor even how large it is.

Thanks for the link – I’ll go check it out.
