I need some feedback if anyone can offer it. I have purchased from Laguna Tools for some time now and have noticed that they have a good amount of overstock items on CL in orange county, CA. Anyone know if anyone else who has purchased some of their demo equipment. I am a little nervous but man there are some great deals on there right now. Any feedback would help.

Saw those sales too… I am in the market for a band saw. Their sale all of a sudden put Laguna Tools into the running… I didn’t think that they were within the $$$ range. Now I am considering stretching my budget some more for a quality piece of equipment…

Yeah I called and talked to Travis a sales rep i think and he was really helpful and is willing to work with me. I have some budget issues as well but dont want to sacrifice quality if I dont have to. I am looking at a LT16HD with the driftmaster and the resaw king blade for $2400… Any feeback if this is a good deal???

I own the 16 Hd with driftmaster. Laguna has been riding on past good reviews but from my experience the sales reps ether don’t tell the truth or are uninformed and there service department is underwhelming.
Search Laguna here on LJs and you will see some real horror stories. If I had it to do over I would buy a Grizzly bandsaw for less money and better service

I second a1Jim’s comments, check their service record…

Yeah, I have read the posts and agree but the product is so above the normal machines that I ahve used. I am going to have to think this thru fully before pulling the trigger. Thanks for your feedback. I love the machines and wish the service was better??

I don’t believe they are above normal . After purchasing my saw I also received a 12” jointer I ordered from Grizzly in looking at the bed of the Grizzly tool it’s finish would be what a sanded finish of say 600 sandpaper very nice and in comparison the Lagunas table top looked like an 80 grit very rough like some old Harbor Freight stuff I had purchased years before. I was shocked at the difference besides the other problems I already had this was the kicker. There’s a lot more than this but I don’t want to type that long. Buy what you wish but at least you’ve got a heads up before you had gone into it blind.

I have the small 14” bs from Grizzly and their 10” ts , I have no problems with either. Only machine I would pick over these (that I have used) is Powermatic.

twcaden.. I can testify personally about Laguna..since our shop has bought 2 of their machines.. I will say but 1 thing.. save your money and buy from someone else.. a1jim is right.. they are a nightmare to own.. we paid almost 10,000 for an edgebanding machine which we used for about 2 runs.. we spent more time fixing that machine..calling the customer service..listening to all their false promises.. waiting for them to show up to service the machine and they never showed up and the list goes on.. what saved us was the fire.. that’s right.. a fire broke out and destroyed the machine..luckily we took out insurance for our equipment and it covered the cost..i will say this.. they are all smoke and illusions.. their stuff is poorly made but made to look good.. buy a Grizzly.. I have heard nothing but good stuff about them and will be buying a sander from them there might be a few who have had good luck with their Laguna, but 2 for 2 is horrible for me..

I have Griz TS, BS and Jointer—fine tools but the shipping costs can be a jolt if you live inland, like I do.

OK guys I have decided to pass on the Laguna offer at this time so thanks for the heads up. I called them and they were cool about it and offered me this killer deal that I saw on saw mill creek forum. I thought I would share it with you guys since money is money no matter what or who you are buying from.

Here is an SMC exclusive offer. Many of you are familiar with the Laguna Resaw King Blade I currently have our Kerf King version, which is the Resaw King Blade with a slightly more aggresive tooth pattern, made in the same German factory (still great for hand cutting thin veneers but can also be used with a power feed), for $75 dollars each and we will size to fit your saw.

Blade specs – 1 1/4” width x .042” kerf x 2 tpi x 167” length (will size to fit your saw)

Ask for Tim he is the blade guy.

I’m not sure what you mean by inland. My experience with Grizzly is that they have one shipping price for each machine that they sell, regardless of where you live in the lower 48 states. In fact, they are currently offering free shipping on quite a few of their machines.

I’m very pleased with my Grizzly machines and their CS is top notch.
