I recently purchased a DP220 drill press and would like to buy a mortising attachment. I have not been able to find a mortising attachment that will fit this machine. Any ideas which delta mortising attachment fits this press? Also, I’ve heard conflicting stores as to how well drill press mortising attachments work… Any comments?

Some folks like them but I never had any luck with them.

I started off with this type of attachment. When I replaced the drill press, the quill was a different size (smaller). Went to a machine shop and had them make a reducer bushing. I always had trouble getting the thing tight enough so it would not slip during the mortising operation- on both drill presses. Seemed to work pretty good in pine and poplar but not in harder woods like Oak and Maple.
