I am looking to purchase a Jigsaw and a Router. I was wondering if I should wait. Does anyone have any insider information about Deals or promotions for Lowe’s or Home Depot coming up?

What I plan to buy:
Bosch
6.4-Amp Variable Speed T-Shank Corded Jig Saw
Model: 1590EVSK

Bosch
2-1/4-HP Fixed Corded Router
Model: 1617EVSPK

or maybe any Bosch deals?

(or if anyone thinks I should NOT get these?)

As a pro I respect and love the Bosch brand. These tools have a great reputation and I would recommend them.

This would be money well spent.

Buy it once, buy it right the first time.

I’ve got the bosch router kit. It’s a really nice router. Makes me look much better than I am in the woodworking area.

I only buy on sale, pick a good make and wait for a deal.

Any objections to a refurb?

I forgot I have a friend that works for Lowe’s and can get me 10% off. That would give me a brand new router for the price of the refurb! Sweet!

Thanx for the replies and confirmation that these Bosch tools are well worth it.

Now I need to get some plans and see if I can build a router table…

I have the Barrel Top version of that jig saw from Bosch. Love it. It’s a personal preference for me, but I just prefer the barrel top over the top handle in a jig saw. Eitherway, be sure to use quality blades…and the Bosch brand blades are pretty good.

I also have the Router kit from them as well. I’ve had both the Jig and Router for atleast 5 years. The only problem I had with the router was the power switch isn’t sealed properly and it gets caked up with saw dust and you can’t power it on. I thought the motor just died on me, I was so upset, but did some research online and found that it was a common problem with that router. But it was an easy fix. I don’t know if Bosch solved that problem on the newer ones or not, but I would hope they did.
