Hello LJ members & friends,
I’m looking for advice on buying plywood for my cherry cabinet doors. Is it A1 grade I need to buy?

Well, you might not be able to find 1/4” (I assume you are using 1/4” for a panel) in A1. I’ve found it easier to locate A-3 in 1/4” thickness. The “A” side is the show side so that faces out. The “3” side isn’t bad but there may be defects you need to work around. However it is on the inside of the cabinet.

If at all possible, do NOT buy the plywood sight-unseen. Go and look at the sheets yourself.

And of course, A3 would be less expensive than A1 should you find it.
