would like to bulid my first morris chair and have a bunch of hickory stacked up. in the past this stuffs seems to want to twist and warp on me. it is very dry, been stacked for 5 years or so . any thoughts or suggestions ?

You can try milling some of the required pieces slightly over sized, then stickering them in your shop for a few days. If everything seems to be good, mill to final dimensions and wait another few days and see if they are still straight and true. FWIW
