Topic tags/keywords: cl band saw craigs list power tool bandsaw question

CL listing. The pictures of it make it look brand new. It is on a closed base with wheels and comes with three, 93 1/2” blades. No other details.
From the pictures (four, including one showing the inside of the upper housing) it is very clean and looks brand new. The seller has obviously taken care of this tool. The table and fence are clean and without scratches. I don’t believe it has riser blocks.

It looks good but is $400 a reasonable price? I’ll ask the seller about riser blocks and motor hp. What else should I ask him? What is a fair price?

Thanks for the help.

Greg

If it uses 93 1/2” blades, it does not have the riser block. The saw does look very clean, almost like it had been repainted. the mobile base probably cost somewhere around $75-$100. My guess is it has a 3/4 HP motor (and that is a guess). I also believe that to be one of the later USA saws, making it one of the better 14” cast iron saws made (IMHO). As for price, I think it’s a little high (I would put it around $300) but if he sells it then it’s priced right. So depending on how bad you want it…...

$400 seems a bit steep if you’re willing to wait for a better deal.

About the going asking price around here, $400. Occasionally you happen across a great deal but anymore it seems you need to be a full time wheeler dealer or willing to wait months on end. You can always offer less. Was there a picture of the saw?
