I came across a Ridgid jointer about an hour from the house that I’m considering. However he’s asking $350 obo for it. I’m thinking it’s worth more in the $200-250 range but not sure. Wanted to post here and see what yaw think it’s worth. Thanks in advance.

That thing was really used a lot. Make sure it is running smoothly. It is a lot more jointer that you can buy new for that money. Worth a gamble. If you can clean it up and take better pics, you could always resell it easily enough.

That said, a little more money and you will find some 6” Jet models available with a better motor, better fence mounts and probably in better condition.

You are right and don’t forget to check the bearings, you will most likely need a new set of knives.
I have the Ridgid JP06101, probably the next model up, it is a good jointer, solid and reliable, paid $200 which seems to be the average price.

I have the orange one and paid $300 new at HD. I think the $200 range +/- is a decent number.

i think you’re right. 200-250 seems more like the right ballpark. He will probably balk at 200, but if you start there you might have him at 250.

Thanks for the input. I wasn’t looking for a jointer yet, but seen this and thought I might get a decent deal on it. We’ll see what happens.

I bought mine for $150 off CL. I had to restore it, but it really didn’t cost much if you know what you were doing.

If it’s in good adjustment and runs smoothly, I’m also in the ~$200 camp.
