Good planer. The “worth” part is up to you. My rule of thumb is a machine in good condition should sell for about half of its original price. The price goes down from there according to things that are wrong with it. Most of my shop is made up of “used” light industrial machines, mostly Delta from the 1940s to the 1970s.

I was mainly worried about the quality of the delta planers made in brazil. I heard they may have issues.

It is a good one…..and as stated, those invicta s do have a history of issues as in MINIMUM MAINTENACE required!

I have the delta invicta rc51 which is the 20 inch. No problems since new 30 plus years ago !

And forget about the spiral cutterhead … is available for around 2500.00 if you just gotta have it…..but you won’t need it due to the near six inch diameter cutterhead which creates a very desirable cutting arc not found on most others in its class.

And as stated about paying 50% of new cost…....that would equate to approx 3700. In my case…...
They are typically found at 1200.00 – 1600.00

Oh and don’t worry about the availability of replacement parts….you won’t likely need em.

Enjoy the journey JB
