Looking for advice on moulders…I am currently in the market for my first moulder and I would like to find a used one around 10,000. Can someone tell me what I would expect to get out of a 5 head moulder over a 4 head moulder? I will only process about 200 ft per day as a retirement income supplement. I also need one large enough to do 1000ft a day for special customer requests., I will be making 5 an 7 inch crown, Howe Casing and other eqivelents, and my woods will be quartersawn oak, walnut, cherry, mahogany, maple, and some teak. All will be clear grade and I want to take it from sawmill grade to finish in as few passes as possible. I’m looking toward a weinig 22n or something comparable. Can anyone help me with their experiences with this equipment?
Possibly someone who uses industrial moulders and is familiar with repairs, downtime, ability to get parts, setup times, ect.
