Lumberjocks I have never, ever asked a dumb question. I figure after all that time I am owed one. Here is the question. “How do I do the quoting process when responding on a thread?” I am on an Android tablet and do not have access to a Windows machine. I see the light tan backed quotes on posts and can’t figure out how to do it. Maybe I can’t on a tablet. Someone please help me…

right under each comment (lower right) there is a gray word in 8 point font that says “Quote”

you will see in your response some charachters and the word “blockquote”

So you can copy/paste the command line, to break up quotes into little bits. Like this

Lumberjocks I have never, ever asked a dumb question.

and then do the rest… just by inserting the start/stop quote lines… so you can answer multipart questions :-)

and you can delete junk out of the post if you onlyl want to address a “specific” item somebody said without 3 paragraphs of stuff.
