I just bought one that was a little used and not sure where to start. I have a macbook at home and as I understand, it’s not compatible with the included i-picture. Ideas for software? First I”m looking to make letters/words and straight line cuts. Then I want to start carving from grayscale photographs. What bits and where to get them?

I’ve got a friend that had one of those and I think he used Coreldraw. If that will work for you let me know your OS on a pc. I’ve got some extra copies of Coreldraw 12. I use versions 9 – 14 to lay out signs to carve and route for customers. You can see some of the letters and layouts on my free plans site under signs.

I’m running OS X 10.8.5 on my macbook. I’ll be starting up a windows machine next weekend. Thanks for any help and I’m going to check out your website now.

I run Coreldraw 12 and X4 on Windows 7. I think anything above that and you would need a later version. Not to bad a price for it on ebay. Windows 7 is as far as I have plans to go. I also use a 2000pro and an xp machine. I refuse to spend 1000’s of dollars upgrading my software chasing new windows versions.

If you can use Coreldraw 12 I should be able to dig up a copy and send it to you. I think we bought seven copies and only used 6 of them. All my daughters are using 9 – x4 and have no plans to upgrade either.

Youtube is your friend when learning Coreldraw.
