The Lumberjocks will have a space at the Woodworking Show in Sacramento, Nov 13, 14, & 15. The Woodworking Show is being held at the Sacramento Convention Center, 1400 J St. I personally will be in the booth off and on, during the day Saturday. I am looking for a couple of others that will be able to spend some time in the booth on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Please come by and say ‘HI!’

Can I get a count on those expecting to attend?
You can call me on my cell phone at 209 552 9583

sounds like fun!

give people a chance and they’ll respond.

I think if you keep communication on this thread as opposed to personal phone calls it’ll keep the issue live, and give more people a chance to get in on it.

just my $0.02

Ira, Will talk to the misses about traveling that distance. I have never been to the Sac Show, how big is it? The ones down here have gotten so small they are almost not worth going to.

I’ll try to take an hour or so… as long as they have a chair or if I can bring one in. Is there a day and time when everyone is going to try to meet?

I didn’t realize the show was coming to town in November. I was used to them coming in April/May.

First, the date. Yes, Woodworking Shows has changed their format. They have eliminated a number of show locations thruout N. America. So now, the Sacramento event will be 13,14,15 Nov, 2009. This will be the only Northern California Show of the show season.

How big is the show….I did not make the last two, as family issues prevented. But this year they have a 55,000 sq ft space. [Section A at the convention center] To see the vendors and the layout, go to www.woodworkingshows.com and then hunt for ’ Sacramento ’.

I like to go for several reasons. [1] Meet all of the vendors, some of whom I have talked to on the phone or over the net. [2] See the latest and the greatest new tools and devices. [3] To talk to the vendors to get answered questions about the operation of the tool or other uses. [4] do side-by-side comparisions of tools, blades, etc. [5] see the demonstrations. [6] Talk to other woodworkers and get their feed-back on tools, system, equipment, or products.

I usually stay until my legs start to kill me, then hobble off to drive home.

This show is a Must-Do event, except when the wife intervenes with some major family event

Several times I invested my G-Kids college fund in some ‘I-Got-To-Have-IT’ product. I have enver regreted any of those investments. I have had to endure the usual “You Paid How Much For That Thingy?”

When will we meet? I am hoping to get all lumber jocks to stop by the booth 3:00PM to 5 PM on Saturday. I am unsure if the booth will be manned all day, all days.

I went on line and it said when groups get a booth up to 36 members get in free. Is that the case with LJs members?

Jim and all LumberJocks,
I don’t know. The ‘free’ tickets were not offered. However, I will contact the owner of Woodworking Shows and ask.

sounds good…as i said on the other post…will do my best…

went last april and really enjoyed meeting the other jocks and seeing the show…it was fun for me—-the other jocks who had been to it thought it was much smaller then previous shows…but for me it was great as a beginner…

here is a link to the people who discussed the april show…

I am pretty bummed. I just found out I have hiring manipulative test for my department that day (it just had to fall on THAT day)

Probably one of the most important days of my life. Sorry I can’t make it. But have fun and wish me luck.
