Topic tags/keywords: tip I just received a letter in the mail from Lee Valley Tools. They explained to me that the block plane I purchased in early July had a price revision in their September catalog. To quote their letter “In keeping with our guidelines on price reduction, and in light of your recent purchase of this item, we are enclosing a refund for the difference in price plus applicable taxes and freight.” I’m just blown away, they sent me a check!! It really made my day so I thought I would pass this along. -- Mike the CreekWoodworker |

I have always had good service from Lee Valley and this simply confirms what I already knew about their customer service. This is the type of customer service story that I enjoy hearing about. -- With God's help all things are possible- even woodworking. Woodworking is not just a hobby, it is an (expletive deleted) expensive hobby. |

I’ve seen plenty of “Price Matching” from other places, but YOU have to point it out and ask for a refund. This kind of service from Lee Valley is fantastic. -- Scrap Wood's the best...the projects are smaller, and so is the mess! |

“Your check is in the mail” is one of the world’s biggest lies!! I’m glad to hear it is true this time :-)) Good to see something good posted instead of only gripes!! -- Debt is nothing more than the 21st Century's form of slavery. |

Yesterday I was updating my Christmas wishlist which includes several items from Lee Valley. As I was checking the list and confirming prices, I noticed that several of the items on my list had price REDUCTIONS including a couple of their planes. This is virtually unheard of; prices actually going down? |

I’ve just placed quite a sizeable order with them too. The plan originally was to buy only accessories, but the combination of reasonable prices, up front discussion of discounts (‘there aren’t any’, but at least they didn’t beat around the bush) and a quality product that ticked all the right boxes and seems to deliver led me to buy planes too. It’s nice to come across a business that has values, and that sets out in an intelligent and balanced way to apply them. They seem to understand that good business is good for both parties… -- Late awakener.... |

I have never had a negative experience with Lee Valley they are first class all the way in both the quality of their tools and their customer service. When you call their 800 number would you believe there is no automated “press 1 for….” amazing! they actually answer their phone and act as if they want your business! So refreshing! -- Craig, Springfield Ohio |

Lee Valley is a great company to do business with never a complaint from anyone I know, they should set up a school on how to manage a company, and there are a few out there that could learn a thing or two. -- Mike |

They have great tools and service if only they can do something about their s/h charges. Yesterday to ship a 4” doughnut rasp was $11.50, I didn’t buy it… -- Never board, always knotty, lots of growth rings |
