I have to say right off the bat that nobody has ever made anything for me, especially something that is extremely usefull. So to be able to share this post means the world to me. I’ve never been a huge pen fan, at least the ones that are always getting posted here. For some reason I’ve always disregarded them as a simple project, one of which many people do. That is until I recieved this gift. I have a new respect for the work, and the beauty of it. Tony (Grumpy) has went above and beyond his call of friendship and has given me the most generous gift. A set of writing utensils. One mechanical pencil, which will be my favorite for years, I can guarentee you that, and a very nice pen. I am a stickler for the mechanical pencil. I have had the same mechanical pencil for several years, and when I don’t know where it is at drawing time I’m frustrated and refuse to draw. This new pencil will be taking that ones place for sure, and I have already drawn up a new rocking chair design.
I was going to post this yesterday when I received them but ended up busy doing other things. Tony, it is a pleasure to receive this gift, and I can guarentee you that it will not go unnoticed. The mail works both ways. I raise my glass to you my friend, in appreciation and best wishes. Thanks.

The Darker one is Maller Burl, The other is Camphor Laurel. They came in the box taboot!! Like I said, what a guy!

This post made my day. It is wonderful to share like this. Definitely a win-win deal for both of you.

Tony (Grumpy)-
The set is gorgeous, and Keith really (REALLY) loves it! The fact that you would do something like this just out of the kindness of your heart means SO much to the both of us. I was very excited to see the package arrive in the mail, and I texted Keith about it right away…lol!
Sometimes it seems that the world is so un-kind, but when you hit rock bottom and hit the toughest of times like we did over the past year…THAT’S when you see that there really are some kind & wonderful people out there! And you know what…it makes you appreciate all of the blessings that you DO have so much more!! So, THANK YOU very much for this random act of kindness : )

Keith, you & kolwdwrkrsgirl have really let the cat out of the bag.
How can I keep my reputation of ‘Grumpy’ when you say all those nice things. LOL
As you know it was a token of my appreciation for a supreme effort you both made recently & is only a small gift in return for your genorisity.
Thanks for all your kind words my fellow Jocks. This is indeed a great community.

Some people give,
Some people get,
Some really live,
Others only fret,

Your gift is more,
Than pencil & pen,
Your gift for sure, Is a very good friend.

Grumpy, That was very kind of you. Those are great looking. You and Lazy Larry got to find a way to get me some of that Camphor over here. I told Larry the other day that I have been working with Camphor veneer and I just love that stuff and the smell of camphor is awesome. He said that a lot of it gets bulldozed and burned. That is really hard to believe. Great friendship you and Keith have there.

Jerry, Camphor Laurel is popular down under for wood turning & is plenitiful in large slabs. It has a strong ecalyptus smell when it is worked. Really clears the sinuses.
