Hi everyone,
It’s been a year since I posted and several months since I even looked at this site. One year ago my wife of 30 years passed away. Then in March of this year I was let go from the company I worked for for 16 years. Last year I kind of lost my desire to work wood. I have now moved to Florida and I’m living in a travel trailer. When I moved I sold off all of my tools. Now that I’m settled in I’m getting bored and would like to get back into woodworking. I only have a circular saw, a jig saw a ROS a small Trend router and pin nailer. I have no storage space and since this is a RV park I can’t build a shed of any kind. So, I’m looking for some suggestions on how to get back into the grove. Be forewarned, I am NOT a hand tool guy.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your wife and job. As for getting back into woodworking I would look around the area to see if I could find a woodworking club. Or maybe a Jr. College or High School that rents time and space in their shops.

Good Luck

I kind of know somewhat how you feel, Don.

I wish you the best of luck and if I had any idea of what to say that would help, I would.
Unfortunately, I have lost the will to do much more than I have to anymore.

I hope it all works out for you.

I don’t know your exact situation; like working or not, retired, need to be close to town, etc. But, I think I would be looking to get a little piece of land to put my trailer on. A place where I could build a small shop. May not be possible though, due to building /zoning restrictions. My county in Tennessee you can do pretty much what you want to on your own land if it is outside of the city limits. Not the case everywhere though.

Anyway, sorry for your losses and wishing you better fortune going forward.

Have your say...
