Hello I have came across 5 Japanese planners that I cant figure out the makers marks .. Any info on how to figure out the brand of plane quality and price..

Not trying to be funny, but I would think the jap writing on the blade and box are the makers mark. Have a friend from Japan who can translate?

Sorry no Japanese friends .. And woodcraft took over japanese wood worker stopped in and they were all stumped.. My father Inlaw is big on planners and has a few 7-800 dollar ones .. We fired the jap ones up and he felt they work better than the lie Nelson one he has that is pretty sweet … So for functions they work great if not super.. Is there a guy on the site that specializes in these planes .. Thanks jc
